Forgotten Women in History

In honor of Women's History month, we wanted to honor some of the many women forgotten by history.

Jackie Mitchell was one of the first female pitchers in the professional baseball world. She was only 17 years old when she played in the league.

Christine de Pizan was the first professional female writer. She also wrote feminist pieces, arguing that women should be respected and educated. She was truly revolutionary for her time.

Gloria Richardson was a Civil Rights activist, and one of the founders of the MD Cambridge Nonviolent Action Committee. She also criticized how black women were treated during the modern Civil Rights Movement. She is considered an "unsung heroine" of the movement.
